CERA connects individuals across the state and nation through its annual conference in order to improve education. The 2018 CERA annual conference will be held in Anaheim, California from November 12th-14th at the Disneyland Hotel.
Educational researchers may submit for consideration original proposals that have not been published or presented at another professional meeting. If the proposal is accepted, the lead author must join CERA, all presenters must pay the conference fees, and present at the conference.
Proposals for the upcoming 2018 meeting will be accepted early Spring. The program will consist of papers and other formats for educational research presentations that have been accepted by the review committee. All submissions will be reviewed by at least two board members, who represent scholars or practitioners in the field of education.
Description: General sessions include presentations highlighting research in progress in the field of education, results of a research study already completed, or practices that are improving instruction for students in California. These presentations will be 45-minutes in length.
Evaluation Criteria: All submissions will be reviewed by at least two CERA members. General session proposals will be evaluated according to: (a) the significance of the problem or issue to the field; (b) appropriateness of the application or the findings or the practices; (c) the originality of the work.
Description: Partnership sessions will include presentations highlighting partnerships that are positively affecting educational practice. For example, a university with a school district, a school district with another school district, a school district with a private vendor/non-profit organization, or regional collaboration/consortium. Representatives from both partnerships should be a part of the presentation. These presentations will be 90-minutes in length.
Evaluation Criteria: All submissions will be reviewed by at least two CERA members. Partnership session proposals will be evaluated according to: (a) the significance of the problem or issue to the field; (b) appropriateness of the application or the findings or the practices; (c) the originality of the work; (d) the level of collaboration in the work.
